Throughout the weekend, cross-border skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah escalated, with Israel claiming to have killed more senior figures within the group. Lebanese officials reported that over 100 people were killed on Sunday, bringing the total death toll in the region to more than 1,000 in the past two weeks. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated that Israeli airstrikes may have displaced up to one million people, marking what could be the largest displacement in Lebanon’s history.
In addition to targeting Hezbollah, Israel also struck the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Yemen, citing retaliatory actions against recent Houthi attacks.
