  • Pakistan successfully conducts a test of the Shaheen-II ballistic missile.

RAWALPINDI: On Tuesday, Pakistan conducted a successful training launch of the Shaheen-II ballistic missile, aimed at validating various technical parameters, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military’s media wing noted that the launch also served to evaluate the performance of different sub-systems designed to enhance accuracy and survivability.

The training launch was observed by senior officials from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations. The director general of the Strategic Plans Division praised the technical skill, dedication, and commitment of the scientists involved in this significant achievement.

In response to the Shaheen-II launch, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the chiefs of the three services extended their congratulations to the scientists and engineers.

The launch is part of routine testing conducted by the country’s security forces on various missiles in their arsenal. Last month, the Pakistan Navy showcased its combat readiness with a successful live weapon firing of FN-6 surface-to-air missiles (SAM) in Karachi, where the GBAD system effectively engaged its airborne targets.
